Appalachian Forest School offers outdoor recreation programs for children ages 3 to 5, with classes in Harrisonburg and Staunton, VA. We believe that curiosity sparks learning. By spending time immersed in nature, children develop resilience, problem solving skills, grit, stronger immune systems, and the ability to assess and approach risk safely.

As the first 100% outdoor forest school to be licensed in Virginia, we are proud to offer the highest quality programming to the students in our care. AFS has served over 500 students since our start in 2018!
